Since forming in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins have toured through iconic eras like Mellon Collie, the Zeitgeist reunion, and their recent runs with returning original members. They’ve played over 1,600 shows in 53 countries, and they’re still going strong with new dates coming in 2025. Here are the four most popular tours of their career.
Infinite Sadness Tour (1996-1997)


Supporting their widely successful album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, this huge tour spanned 171 shows and captured the band at the height of their popularity, with performances of classics like 'Bullet with Butterfly Wings' and '1979 '.
Siamese Dream Tour (1993-1994)
SDT backed the band’s breakthrough album and helped them go from underground favorites to alternative rock stars. Even with the pressure behind the scenes, they pulled off high-energy shows, bringing hits like ‘Cherub Rock,’ ‘Today,’ and ‘Disarm’ to fans around the world.



Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour (2018)
This tour brought original members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin back together, giving fans a chance to hear the band’s classic albums live. The shows nostalgia with the Pumpkins’ signature energy, made for some unforgettable performances.



Zeitgeist Tour (2007-2008)
The Zeitgeist Tour marked the Pumpkins’ comeback after a few years apart. Fans got to hear a mix of new songs with classic hits for a high-energy return to the stage.
